EXCLUSIVE: Electric City Music Conference announces 2018 venues, performers, and set times across Scranton area | NEPA Scene

On Sunday night, organizers of the Electric City Music Conference held an announcement party at Thirst T’s Bar & Grill, revealing all the nominees for the upcoming 2018 Steamtown Music Awards on Thursday, Sept. 13 as well as the entire live music schedule at 13 different venues on Friday, Sept. 14 and Saturday, Sept. 15.

The fifth annual event kicks off with the Steamtown Music Awards on Sept. 13 at The V-Spot (906 Providence Rd., Scranton), honoring Northeastern Pennsylvania’s top musicians and music industry professionals in 37 unique categories. Then on Sept. 14-15, over 150 local and national acts will perform across Scranton, Peckville, and Olyphant. Saturday afternoon will also feature free educational panels that are open to the public. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.

Venues returning for the 2018 ECMC are the Backyard Ale House, The Bog, the Irish Wolf Pub, The Keys, the New Penny Lounge, Thirst T’s Bar & Grill, and The V-Spot. The new venues added this year are Ale Mary’s, The Brew House and Back Room Bar, Club Vibe, Crotti’s on Ash, Harry’s, and Peculiar Slurp Shop.

As the largest event of its kind in Northeastern Pennsylvania, this celebration of the diverse local music scene is much more than a music festival, bringing hundreds of artists and music industry professionals together annually to meet and network while recognizing and showcasing established and up-and-coming musicians.
